Our school is not affiliated with any particular religious denomination. R.E. is taught according to the current Nottinghamshire Agreed Syllabus. Arrangements can be made for parents who wish to withdraw their child from assemblies or teaching.
By using the child’s own history and that of the locality, we aim to give an awareness and understanding of the comparison between the past and the present. This is then extended to encompass a range of historical personalities, events and social situations.
The children study their local area, localities in the United Kingdom and other parts of the world. Geography helps children to gain a greater understanding of the ways and cultures of other people in other places.
We give children a wide range of musical activities, which include singing, the use of tuned and untuned percussion instruments, and musical appreciation. We encourage listening skills, composition and co-operative performance. Year 2 children learn to play the recorder.
