Our School

Larkfields Infant School is set in the heart of a quiet residential area, surrounded by well-maintained lawns and gardens. We have our own playground and there are extensive playing fields shared with the adjacent Junior School. Our outdoor learning provision consists of a well-equipped lower playground for the children in Foundation Stage 2 and the secure inner courtyard for children in Key Stage 1. In addition we have a large allotment space where we grow fresh fruit and vegetables.

Inside, the school has several light and spacious general-purpose teaching areas, as well as specially equipped sections devoted to art and craft, ICT, creative play, and baking. Each class has its own ‘quiet corner‟, which is used for activities such as role play, discussion and story time.

In addition to these teaching areas, Larkfields Infants has a well-stocked library and a carpeted hall, which is used for P.E, music, drama and assemblies. We are also fortunate to have a separate dining area where children can enjoy either the delicious meals prepared on the premises, or their own packed lunches.

At Larkfields we possess a varied selection of ICT equipment, which is widely used in all areas of the curriculum. Each teaching area has its own Interactive Whiteboard, computers, access to the Internet and various school owned programs.
