Music

Music is an important part of our school life and we are fortunate to have a pianist which allows all children the opportunity to sing whilst being accompanied by the piano. All of our children have a weekly singing lesson and take part in in a number of musical events during the school year performing to audiences at school or in the local church.

Music from a variety of genre is played as the children enter the hall for our daily assembly. The children listen to the music and have an opportunity to learn about the piece and its composer, writer or performers.

All year groups have a dedicated music session in the school hall where they learn to play musical instruments and learn about elements of music such as pitch and tempo. In Year 2 all children learn to read simple musical notation and begin to learn how to play the recorder.
