  • Chance to Dance

    Last Tuesday Mrs Taylor took a selected group of children to take part in the local dance festival “Chance to Dance”. The theme this year was Animal Magic and we were all very proud of our children’s performance to Roar by Katy Perry. They looked amazing in their costumes and wonderful face paint. A big thank you to the children, their parents, Mrs Taylor and the staff team.

  • Nuthall Methodist Church Visit

    Thank you to Jason and Rachel from Nuthall Methodist Church who came today to tell the children all about the Easter story. As Jason and Rachel told the story, the children listened attentively and helped design our Easter Cross. They decorated it with palm leaves, wet hand prints to represent the washing of feet and flowers for new life.

  • World Book Day

    We had a great time celebrating world book day. The children loved having their books read by the Junior School children. The children looked amazing in all their costumes. 

  • Explorer Day

    The Year 2 children learnt all about famous explorers and how to survive in Antarctica. The made compasses and binoculars. The afternoon was spend building their survival shelters. 

  • Christmas

    Christmas is always a busy period in an Infant School and this year was no exception. The children have made us very proud with their wonderful singing in two well attended events. We have had a delicious Christmas Dinner followed by a surprise visit from Santa and everyone had a great time at the party.

    Thank you for your continued support and on behalf of myself and the staff, merry Christmas.

     

     

  • Year 1 Perlethorpe Trip

    Despite the weather, the Year One children had a fantastic time on their school trip to Perlethorpe. They went on a woodland walk to Bethlehem and found baby Jesus in the barn. In the afternoon they were able to do lots of Christmas crafts. All the teachers and helpers said the children had a lovely time and were Larkfields STARs.

  • Year 2 Synagogue Visit

    The Year 2 children visited the Liberal Synagogue in Nottingham yesterday. This was to support their RE topic of Judaism. The children came back to school eager to talk about what they had learnt and seen. They were shown a 200 year old Torah, the Star of David and a representation of the Tree of Life.

     

  • Diwali Dance Day

    What a fabulous day we had on Wednesday. Mr Bollywood came and talked to all the children about Diwali and also taught them three energetic dances. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came to support the children by watching the end of day showcase. The children loved how willing you were to join in and have a go. In fact, the day was such a hit we have booked him to come again next year to teach us some new dances with props!

  • New Books

    Thank you to everyone who purchased a book from the scholastic book fair in the summer. We were given £200 of free books which arrived yesterday. We will be adding these books into all the classes story time books.
