We hope you have enjoyed the summer break and that the children are rested and eager to return to school. We also look forward to welcoming our new children and their families. As you are aware the school has undergone major building work over the summer break and the project is not due to be completed until mid-October. The staff have been into school this week and have worked hard to put classrooms back together.
As a result of the ongoing works, we have had to make some temporary adjustments to the normal operations of the school. Please read carefully below the temporary changes we have made.
Swifts
The Swifts will come into and out of school through their normal door which is situated by the side of the main entrance. However, their brand-new classroom is still under construction. Mrs Bear and Mrs Turner have worked hard today to create a temporary classroom in our hall.
PE
The school hall will currently be used as a classroom and therefore all PE will take place outside on the school field, weather dependent. The children will need there PE Kits and plimsols in school.
The Nest
The entrance to The Nest has been temporarily relocated to the main entrance. You will need to enter the main school entrance and then phone 079597 356241 to alert a member of staff you are here. Apart from this The Nest will run as normal.
Dinners
The dining room has currently been sectioned off to ensure the children and staff are not near the building works. This has significantly reduced the capacity of our dining hall more than originally anticipated. As a result, food will need to be served to the children in the classrooms for the first two days back in school whilst we work with the Nottinghamshire Catering Services and Larkfields Juniors to find a solution. On Tuesday and Wednesday the children will be given a selection of sandwiches, salad, fruit and the school pudding instead of the planned hot meals. I will inform you as soon as possible when a solution has been found.
