World Book Day

World Book Day takes place this year on Thursday 4th March. This is a day where children and families around the world celebrate the pleasure of reading and the importance of books. This year we are very mindful that creating costumes is much harder with the closure of many shops and we have also given you have very little time.

We have picked the theme extreme reading. You will need to get your active wear on and use your permitted daily exercise to go and explore the most extreme places you can read a book. In a tree, wading through a stream or under a bridge. If you need any ideas a simple internet search of extreme reading ideas will certainly help. We would love for you to then send your photos into your class email addresses.

For the children in school please can they come in active wear also, if you have already organised a costume and your child would like to wear it, that is fine too. However, please be mindful we will be spending part of the day outside so princess shoes are probably not a good idea.

We will end the day with a story session run by Mrs Irwin. This will take place at 2.45pm and a link will be emailed to your child’s email account in the coming days.
